AG is the latest denim brand to link with artists in honor of Pride month.
The Los Angeles-based brand released limited-edition unisex tees and totes featuring prints designed by LGBTQ+ creatives Favianna Rodriguez, Ludi Leiva, Queenbe Monyei and Pride-themed tube socks.
The collection will go towards supporting The Trevor Project with AG donating an amount equal to 100 percent of proceeds from the capsule.
“As we celebrate our community, AG is proud to partner with and donate to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people,” the brand stated in a release. “The number of suicides among young people continues to rise, and the rates disproportionately affect young members of the LGBTQ+ community. AG supports The Trevor Project in its mission to save young LGBTQ+ lives through the organization’s crisis services, peer support, research, public education and advocacy.”
The unisex tees retail for $78, the rainbow tube socks retail for $24, and the AG tote bags will be complimentary with any purchase in an AG retail store.
Shining a spotlight on LGBTQ+ artists has been a common theme in 2022 Pride collections.
Dockers teamed with Bay Area-based artist Richard Ceely for a colorful range of garment-dyed hooded sweatshirts, tees and tanks, as well as khaki shorts. Each item features Ceely’s unique drawings and rendering of the Dockers logo. The phrase “Say It Loud” is featured across the collection.
Art is the inspiration behind Diesel’s Pride collection as well. In partnership with art organization Tom of Finland Foundation and Paris art gallery The Community, the brand is funding “AllTogether,” a two-installment homoerotic art exhibition showcasing more than 200 pieces dating back to the 1940s. The exhibition will run through June 26 in Paris and Venice and offer exclusive T-shirt and tote bag merchandise for sale.
