Lynn Del Wood, ‘Woody’, of Neenah, WI passed away on June 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 1, 1934 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Margretta (Davies) and Warren Wood, Woody was the youngest of two brothers. He went to school in Oshkosh and it was there that he made many lifelong friendships. He married Jane Hensel in 1957 and together they raised their three children. Woody worked at Kimberly Clark for close to 40 years, forming close friendships. When he retired, he swore he’d never wear another tie again. He was noted for his collection of “cool” t-shirts, which were given to him by family and friends, and gray socks with cutoff tops - personally customized by him for comfort and style! After retirement, Woody volunteered at Jefferson Elementary School in Appleton for 24 years. Being there was truly his happy place. One of the greatest compliments he said he ever received was when, after saying “hi” to a student in the hallway, he heard another student ask, “who’s the adult?” The student responded, “that’s not an adult, that’s Mr. Wood!”. Woody had an incredible knowledge of history, music, movies, and sports and enjoyed golfing and bowling with friends. He loved the game of baseball; was a lifelong Cardinals (Stan Musial) fan, loved Timber Rattler games and the NCAA DIII tournament when played in Appleton. He always kept his glove in the car just in case he got “The Call”. We will always remember his humbleness, his quiet nature but strong presence, his humor, his games, his love of movies and his interest in all things family. His love was always kind, always supportive, always selfless and unconditional. He kept it simple, taught through connection and shared himself with fun loving energy. “ZANZIBAR!” A magnet for kids, he made a difference every day and influenced generations. He was grateful, gentle, and peace-loving. We were blessed to have him in our lives and his memory lives on in all of us. We love you and we deeply miss you. We will always feel your presence simply because that’s what you gave. We are forever grateful. From K, K, and M: Thank you for everything, thank you for being you and thank you for being Dad. Woody is survived by: Jane Koeffler; their children: Kathryn (Sam) Eustice, Kevin (TerriBeth) Wood, and Mark Wood; his grandchildren: Emily (Ben) DeMoulin, Anna (Ben) Geyer, Jena (Billy) Kratz, Carli (Paul DesJardins) Wood, Wilson Wood, Nahani Wood, Teale (Amos) Cook, and Lander Wood. He delighted in his role as ‘Governor’ to his great-grandchildren: Hunter, Reid, and Levi DeMoulin, Kolton and Rhys Kratz, Leona Geyer and Kemmer Cook; Woody’s second wife, Sharon Wood; and her children: Laura (Leif) Esbensen, Howard ‘Skip’ Brown, Michael (Jehan) Brown, and Matthew (Karin) Brown; and grandchildren: Karyn (Alex) Dyble, Rebekka and Celia Esbensen, Ruby, Leo, Cora, Zadie and Milo Brown. Woody is survived by his beloved soulmate, Marcia Marks and her children: Connie Armstrong and Carrie Marks; and her grandchildren: Justin (Ashley) Stenerson and Ashlee Stenersen, and Kaitlyn and Samantha Armstrong. Woody is further survived by his niece, Bryce (Larry) Marine and nephew, David (Carol) Wood and their families. Woody is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale Wood. The family would like to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to the staff at the Valley VNA in Neenah for all of their kindness and loving care for Woody. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 17, 2022, 1:00 pm at Mahler Park in Neenah. The family has established a memorial fund in Lynn’s honor to the Neenah Public Library, where he spent many an hour, to benefit children and others in the community. Westgor Funeral Home 205 W.
